Yoyo Pakistani Loach 5cm

The Yoyo Loach (Botia almorhae), also known as the Pakistani Loach or Almora Loach, is a lively and characterful loach from the river systems of Pakistan and northern India. Named for the "Y-O-Y-O" pattern visible along its silver body, this active and social species is a favourite for its entertaining personality, constant movement, and impressive ability to hunt down and eliminate snails. A hardy and adaptable loach, it is a great choice for community aquariums with medium to large tank mates.

Care Guide

• Tank Size: Minimum 150L; best kept in groups of 5 or more — social fish that establish hierarchies and become more confident and active in larger groups
• Water Parameters: pH 6.0–7.5 | Temp 24–28°C | Soft to moderately hard water preferred; good filtration and water flow appreciated
• Diet: Omnivorous — quality sinking pellets and wafers; supplement with frozen or live bloodworm, daphnia, and brine shrimp; highly effective snail control fish
• Temperament: Generally peaceful; can be boisterous with very small or timid fish — best kept with similarly sized, robust community fish
• Tank Setup: Spacious aquarium with smooth substrate, caves, driftwood, and hiding spots; a tight-fitting lid is essential as loaches are known jumpers
