The Tri-Colour Lame Medaka (Oryzias latipes var.) is a dazzling and highly decorative Japanese rice fish combining three distinct body colours with the coveted lame (ラメ) trait — a dense scattering of glittering, mirror-like scales that sparkle intensely under light. The result is a fish that shimmers and shifts colour as it moves, making it one of the most visually captivating medaka varieties available. At 2cm, these are young fish with their lame expression already visible and continuing to develop as they mature.
