Pea Puffers (Carinotetraodon travancoricus) are the world's smallest pufferfish, making them a popular choice for nano and planted aquariums. These are Australian bred juveniles at approximately 1cm, raised locally for hardiness and adaptability to Australian water conditions.
Care Guide
- Tank Size: Minimum 40L for a single specimen; add 20L per additional puffer
- Water Parameters: pH 7.0–8.0 | Temp 24–28°C | Soft to moderately hard water
- Diet: Carnivorous — feed live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, and small snails. Snails are essential for beak maintenance.
- Temperament: Semi-aggressive; best kept species-only or with fast-moving, short-finned tankmates
- Tank Setup: Heavily planted with plenty of hiding spots; they thrive in densely aquascaped environments
- Skill Level: Intermediate
Australian bred stock — no import stress, acclimated to local conditions.
