Narrow Ludwigia (Ludwigia palustris) is a slender, elegant stem plant native to North America and naturalised across much of the world, beloved in the aquarium hobby for its narrow, lance-shaped leaves that display a beautiful contrast of bright green on top and vivid red-pink on the undersides. Fast-growing and undemanding, it adds a graceful, upright column of colour to the mid to background of any planted tank and is an excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels. Its vigorous growth also makes it a reliable nutrient absorber, helping to keep algae in check.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows readily and benefits from regular trimming to maintain shape.
