Ludwigia repens 'Rubin' is a stunning and popular stem plant native to North and Central America, celebrated in the aquarium hobby for its intensely coloured leaves that transition from olive-green on top to a rich, deep ruby-red on the underside — creating a dramatic contrast that adds warmth and depth to any planted aquascape. One of the most vivid red stem plants available, it performs beautifully as a background or midground accent and is a favourite for Dutch-style and nature aquariums alike.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Pinch tops regularly to encourage bushy, lateral growth and maintain vibrant colouration.
