Ludwigia natans is a charming and versatile stem plant native to North and Central America, appreciated in the aquarium hobby for its small, rounded to oval leaves that develop a lovely contrast of green on top and rich red-pink on the undersides under good light. Its compact, bushy growth habit makes it a neat and tidy addition to the midground of any planted aquascape, and its adaptability to a wide range of water conditions makes it a reliable choice for aquarists of all experience levels. A subtle but beautiful plant that adds warmth and depth without demanding high-tech conditions.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows at a moderate pace and benefits from regular trimming to maintain a compact, bushy shape.
