Ludwigia arcuata is a slender and elegant stem plant native to the southeastern United States, prized in the aquarium hobby for its fine, needle-like leaves that develop a beautiful warm orange to deep red colouration under high light. Its delicate, arching foliage creates a soft, airy texture in the midground to background of any planted aquascape, offering a more refined and graceful alternative to the broader-leaved Ludwigia species. One of the most rewarding red plants for aquarists who appreciate subtlety and elegance over bold statement colour.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows at a moderate pace and benefits from regular trimming to encourage bushy, dense growth.
