The Lake Kurumoi Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia parva) is a rare and striking species endemic to the small, isolated Lake Kurumoi in West Papua, Indonesia. Males develop a vivid red-orange body with iridescent blue-green scaling and bold red fins, making them one of the most colourful of the smaller rainbowfish. Their restricted natural range makes them a prized species among rainbowfish enthusiasts.
