The Kohaku Lame Medaka (Oryzias latipes var.) is a stunning Japanese rice fish inspired by the classic Kohaku koi pattern — a crisp white body adorned with bold red-orange patches — elevated further by the coveted lame (ラメ) trait, which adds a dense layer of glittering, mirror-like scales that sparkle brilliantly under light. The combination of the iconic Kohaku bi-colour pattern and intense metallic flash makes this one of the most visually striking medaka varieties available. At 2.5cm, their lame expression and Kohaku patterning are already clearly visible.
