Java Fern Microsorum Indo (Microsorum pteropus 'Indo') is a robust and visually striking variant of the classic Java Fern, native to the tropical rivers and streams of Southeast Asia. Its broad, deeply textured, dark-green fronds with a distinctive rippled surface give it a more dramatic, lush appearance than the standard variety — and on a medium piece of Malaysian driftwood, it becomes a substantial, eye-catching midground anchor that fills space beautifully. Malaysian driftwood releases gentle tannins that naturally soften the water, perfectly complementing this fern's preferred conditions.
Propagation: New plantlets develop naturally along the leaf margins and rhizome. Once plantlets have 3–4 leaves, separate and attach to new hardscape with aquarium-safe super glue or fishing line. Never bury the rhizome in substrate as it will rot.
