Hygrophila 'Tiger' is a striking and distinctive cultivar prized for its boldly patterned leaves — broad, textured, and marked with dramatic dark green to near-black variegation on a lighter green base, reminiscent of tiger stripes. This eye-catching pattern makes it one of the most visually unique Hygrophila cultivars available, adding a bold, graphic quality to the midground to background of any planted aquarium. Relatively undemanding and adaptable, it is a rewarding choice for aquarists looking for something genuinely different without the demands of high-tech conditions.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows at a moderate pace and benefits from regular trimming to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth.
