Hygrophila Araguaia

Hygrophila Araguaia is a charming and relatively uncommon stem plant from the Araguaia river region of Brazil, prized for its small, densely packed leaves that display a warm olive-green to rusty orange-brown colouration — a softer, more earthy palette than many aquarium plants. Its compact, bushy growth habit makes it a versatile choice for the midground of any planted aquascape, where it adds a natural, textured warmth that complements both green and red plants beautifully. Under high light, the orange-brown tones deepen and intensify, making it a subtle but rewarding colour accent.

Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows at a moderate pace and benefits from regular trimming to maintain a compact, bushy shape.
