Micranthemum umbrosum

Baby Tears Broad, Hemianthus umbrosum, is a charming and versatile stem plant native to North America, prized in the aquarium hobby for its small, rounded, bright green leaves that grow in neat whorls along delicate stems, creating a soft, lush texture that works beautifully as a midground filler or background plant in planted tanks. More tolerant of low light than its cousin HC Cuba, it is an excellent choice for aquarists seeking a fine-textured, small-leaved plant without demanding high-tech conditions.

Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows steadily and benefits from regular trimming to maintain a bushy, compact form.
