Gold Severum 5cm

The Gold Severum (Heros efasciatus) is a handsome South American cichlid with warm golden colouration, a calm presence, and plenty of personality. It is peaceful for a larger cichlid when given enough room, but adults need a substantial aquarium and robust tankmates.

• Tank Size: Minimum 300L for one adult; larger for a pair or community
• Water Parameters: pH 6.0–7.5 | Temp 24–28°C | Soft to moderately hard freshwater
• Diet: Omnivore; quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods, prawns, and regular vegetable matter such as spirulina or blanched greens
• Temperament: Generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially when pairing or spawning
• Tank Setup: Large planted aquarium with driftwood, smooth rocks, open swimming space, and strong filtration
• Skill Level: Intermediate
