The Gold Balloon Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi var.) combines the warm golden colouration of the Gold Ram with the distinctive rounded, compressed body shape of the Balloon Ram variant. While their body shape is the result of selective breeding, they retain the same charming personality and care requirements as standard Rams, making them a novelty addition to warm planted community aquariums.
