Fontinalis antipyretica, commonly known as Willow Moss, is a cold-to-temperate water moss native to streams and rivers across Europe, North America, and Asia. Its long, flowing, dark-green fronds cascade naturally over hardscape, creating a lush, wild-river aesthetic that's difficult to replicate with any other plant. On a large piece of Malaysian driftwood, it becomes a dramatic, ready-to-place feature that instantly adds movement, texture, and a naturalistic feel to any aquarium or paludarium. Malaysian driftwood releases gentle tannins that naturally soften the water, complementing this moss's preferred cool, well-oxygenated conditions.
Propagation: Divide clumps by hand or with scissors and attach new portions to hardscape using aquarium-safe super glue, fishing line, or cotton thread. Growth is slow but steady in cooler water.
