Red Flagtail 9-10cm

The Red Flagtail (Semaprochilodus insignis) is a bold and eye-catching characin from the Amazon and Orinoco river systems of South America, prized for its striking red-and-black striped tail that fans out like a vivid flag as the fish swims. Its silver body and dramatically patterned caudal fin make it one of the most visually distinctive large characins available, and at 9-10cm these are well-grown specimens already displaying their full flag-like tail colouration. An active, open-water swimmer that brings energy and movement to large community and biotope aquariums.
