Echinodorus 'Big Bear' is a truly impressive and aptly named sword plant cultivar — a large, bold, and powerfully built plant that commands attention in any aquarium it inhabits. It produces broad, heart-shaped to oval leaves of rich, deep green on sturdy stems, forming a massive, full rosette that can fill the background of even a large tank with lush, verdant growth. There is something deeply satisfying about keeping a plant this substantial — it brings a sense of scale and grandeur to the aquascape that smaller plants simply cannot match. A must-have for large planted tank enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates the majestic side of the sword plant family.
Propagation: Produces adventitious plantlets on long flower stems. Allow plantlets to develop 2–3 leaves and roots before separating from the mother plant.
