Echinodorus latifolius, commonly known as the Dwarf Amazon Sword, is a compact and versatile foreground to midground plant native to Central and South America. It produces rosettes of broad, oval, bright green leaves that stay relatively low and spread via runners to form a lush, natural-looking mat — making it an excellent choice for creating a soft, meadow-like foreground in planted aquascapes. More substantial in leaf size than the narrow-leaved chain swords, it brings a bold, fresh texture to the front of the tank while remaining easy to care for and adaptable to a wide range of conditions.
Propagation: Spreads readily via horizontal runners, producing daughter plants that can be separated once established.
