Bacopa caroliniana is a classic and enduringly popular stem plant native to the southeastern United States, prized in the aquarium hobby for its thick, succulent-like, rounded leaves arranged in neat opposite pairs along sturdy, upright stems. Its fresh, bright green foliage has a pleasingly structured, architectural quality that suits both natural and Dutch-style aquascapes, and under high light the leaves develop a subtle golden-bronze tint that adds warmth and depth to the midground. Slow-growing and undemanding, it is one of the most reliable and forgiving stem plants available — an excellent choice for beginners and a trusted staple for experienced aquarists alike.
Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows slowly and steadily; minimal trimming required.
