Blue Acara Locally Bred

The Blue Acara (Andinoacara pulcher) is a striking South American cichlid with blue-green iridescence, expressive behaviour, and a manageable size for a larger community aquarium. It is generally robust and personable, but still needs room to establish a territory.

• Tank Size: Minimum 200L for one adult or a compatible pair
• Water Parameters: pH 6.5–7.5 | Temp 23–28°C | Soft to moderately hard freshwater
• Diet: Omnivore; quality cichlid pellets, prawns, earthworms, frozen foods, and some vegetable matter
• Temperament: Generally peaceful for a cichlid, but territorial when spawning; avoid very small tankmates
• Tank Setup: Open swimming space with sand or smooth substrate, caves, driftwood, and strong filtration
• Skill Level: Intermediate
• Max Size: Approximately 15cm
