The Black Widow Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi), also known as the Black Skirt Tetra, is a classic and hardy schooling fish from the Paraguay and Guaporé River basins in South America. Displaying a silvery body that deepens to jet black toward the tail, with distinctive vertical black stripes and flowing, skirt-like anal fins, it is one of the most recognisable tetras in the hobby and an excellent choice for community aquariums.
