The Betta Smaragdina Guitar Copper (Betta smaragdina ‘Guitar Copper’) is a stunning colour variant of the Emerald Green Betta, originating from the slow-moving waters and rice paddies of northeastern Thailand and Laos. The ‘Guitar’ locality form is known for its particularly vivid scaling, and the Copper variant adds a warm, metallic copper-gold iridescence over the classic emerald-green body — a truly spectacular combination that glows under aquarium lighting. A mouthbrooding species with fascinating natural behaviours.

• Tank Size: Minimum 40L per pair; best kept as a species-only pair
• Water Parameters: pH 6.0–7.5 | Temp 24–28°C | Soft to moderately hard water; tolerates a wider range than many wild Bettas
• Diet: Carnivorous — live or frozen bloodworm, daphnia, and baby brine shrimp; can be trained to accept quality micro pellets
• Temperament: Males territorial with other males; best kept as a pair in a species-only setup
• Tank Setup: Heavily planted with leaf litter, driftwood, and floating plants; dim lighting enhances their metallic colouration
