The Betta Persephone (Betta persephone) is one of the rarest and most sought-after wild Bettas in the hobby, endemic to a tiny, highly restricted range in the peat swamps of southern peninsular Malaysia. A critically endangered species in the wild, it is a small but strikingly beautiful mouthbrooder — displaying a dark body with vivid blue-green iridescent scaling that shimmers like scattered gemstones.
