Betta Macrostoma Wild Pair 7cm

The Betta Macrostoma (Betta macrostoma), known as the Brunei Beauty, is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular and desirable wild Bettas in the world. Endemic to the clear, fast-flowing hill streams and blackwater streams of Brunei and northern Sarawak, Borneo, it is a large, paternal mouthbrooding species that displays extraordinary colouration — a rich orange-red body with bold black banding and vivid iridescent blue-green scaling on the fins. A true trophy species for the dedicated wild Betta enthusiast, and one that carries significant conservation importance given its restricted natural range.

• Tank Size: Minimum 120L per pair; species-only setup essential
• Water Parameters: pH 4.5–6.5 | Temp 22–26°C | Soft, slightly acidic, well-oxygenated water; cooler temperatures important
• Diet: Carnivorous — live or frozen earthworms, bloodworm, and large invertebrates; can be trained to accept quality carnivore pellets
• Temperament: Males territorial; must be kept as a single pair with ample space and visual breaks
• Tank Setup: Heavily planted with large driftwood, leaf litter, and caves; moderate flow; stable, cool temperatures are critical
