The Betta Mahachai (Betta mahachaiensis) is a striking wild Betta from the peat swamps and slow-moving waters of southern Thailand. A mouthbrooding species, it displays rich earthy-red and brown tones with vivid iridescent blue-green scaling on the fins and body — a subtle but deeply beautiful fish that rewards patient observation. Named in honour of Thai ichthyologist Manachai, this species is a prized addition to any wild Betta collection.
