The Betta Coccina (Betta coccina), commonly known as the Wine Red Betta, is a stunning wild Betta from the blackwater peat swamps of Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula. Its deep wine-red body shimmers with iridescent blue-green scaling on the fins and flanks, creating a jewel-like appearance that is truly breathtaking in a well-set-up blackwater aquarium. A mouthbrooding species with fascinating natural behaviours, and a must-have for the dedicated wild Betta collector.
