Bacopa monnieri

Bacopa monnieri is a versatile and widely loved aquatic stem plant native to wetlands and waterways across tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, prized in the aquarium hobby for its small, rounded, bright green leaves arranged in neat opposite pairs along slender, upright stems. Compact, tidy, and undemanding, it is one of the most beginner-friendly stem plants available and a reliable staple in both natural and Dutch-style aquascapes. Beyond its aquarium appeal, it holds a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine, adding an interesting cultural dimension to this humble but charming plant.

Propagation: Take stem cuttings of 5–10cm, remove lower leaves, and replant into the substrate. Grows steadily and requires minimal trimming to maintain a neat, upright form.
