Anubias Lucy (Anubias barteri var. 'Lucy') is a rare and striking cultivar from West and Central Africa, prized for its dramatic burgundy-to-dark-green new growth that matures into rich, deep leaves — giving it a unique, ever-changing two-toned character unlike any other Anubias. On a medium piece of Malaysian driftwood, this plant becomes a captivating, ready-to-place midground feature that draws the eye and sparks conversation. Malaysian driftwood releases gentle tannins that naturally soften the water, creating ideal conditions for this stunning cultivar to thrive.
Propagation: Divide the rhizome with a clean, sharp blade ensuring each section has at least 3–4 healthy leaves. Reattach to hardscape using aquarium-safe super glue or fishing line. Never bury the rhizome in substrate as it will rot.
