Anubias Barteri - Large Driftwood

Anubias Barteri (Anubias barteri var. barteri) is the quintessential Anubias — a robust, large-growing species from the tropical rivers and streams of West and Central Africa. Its broad, waxy, deep-green leaves and thick rhizome give it an imposing, ancient presence that instantly elevates any aquascape. On a large piece of Malaysian driftwood, this plant becomes a dramatic statement centrepiece that commands attention in larger aquariums and paludariums. Malaysian driftwood releases gentle tannins that naturally soften the water, creating ideal conditions for this iconic species to thrive.

Propagation: Divide the rhizome with a clean, sharp blade ensuring each section has at least 3–5 healthy leaves. Reattach to hardscape using aquarium-safe super glue or fishing line. Never bury the rhizome in substrate as it will rot.
