Anubias Barteri (Anubias barteri var. barteri) is the quintessential Anubias — a robust, large-growing species from the tropical rivers and streams of West and Central Africa. Its broad, waxy, deep-green leaves and thick rhizome give it an imposing, ancient presence that instantly elevates any aquascape. This piece arrives pre-attached to a large natural driftwood, creating a dramatic, statement centrepiece that commands attention in larger aquariums, paludariums, or as a bold focal point in any planted display. Simply place it and watch your tank transform.
Propagation: Divide the rhizome with a clean, sharp blade ensuring each section has at least 3–5 healthy leaves. Reattach to hardscape using aquarium-safe super glue or fishing line. Never bury the rhizome in substrate as it will rot.
