Anubias Afzelli (Anubias afzelii) is a tall, elegant species from the rivers and streams of West Africa, prized for its long, lance-shaped leaves that arch gracefully upward and outward, creating a striking vertical silhouette unlike any other Anubias. On a large piece of Malaysian driftwood, this plant becomes a true showpiece — a towering, lush column of deep green that adds height, drama, and a sense of wild, natural grandeur to larger aquariums and paludariums. Malaysian driftwood releases gentle tannins that naturally soften the water, creating ideal conditions for this statuesque species to thrive.
Propagation: Divide the rhizome with a clean, sharp blade ensuring each section has at least 3–5 healthy leaves. Reattach to hardscape using aquarium-safe super glue or fishing line. Never bury the rhizome in substrate as it will rot.
