Aluminium Plant (Pilea cadierei) is a striking, compact perennial native to the forests of China and Vietnam, instantly recognisable by its quilted, deep green leaves splashed with distinctive silvery-aluminium markings that shimmer under terrarium lighting. In terrariums and paludariums, it adds a bold, decorative texture and eye-catching metallic contrast that pairs beautifully with mosses, ferns, and darker foliage plants. Its compact size and love of humidity make it one of the most rewarding and visually distinctive plants for vivarium builds.
Propagation: Propagates easily from stem cuttings — trim a healthy stem just below a node, remove lower leaves, and press into moist substrate where it will root readily.
