Golden Gourami 5cm (Group of 5)

The Golden Gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus var.) is a warm and vibrant colour form of the Three Spot Gourami, displaying a rich golden-yellow to amber colouration that glows beautifully under aquarium lighting. Hardy, adaptable, and easy to care for, the Golden Gourami is a popular choice for community aquariums and makes an excellent centrepiece fish for medium to large planted setups. Like all gouramis, it is a labyrinth fish capable of breathing atmospheric air directly from the surface.

Care Guide

• Tank Size: Minimum 100L; active swimmers that appreciate space; males territorial with each other — keep one male per tank or in a large, well-decorated setup
• Water Parameters: pH 6.0–8.0 | Temp 22–28°C | Highly adaptable; tolerates a wide range of water conditions
• Diet: Omnivorous — quality flake or pellet food; supplement with frozen or live daphnia, brine shrimp, and blanched vegetables
• Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be mildly aggressive toward smaller or slower fish; avoid housing with very small or timid species
• Tank Setup: Planted aquarium with open swimming areas and some surface cover; floating plants appreciated
