Java fern “Microsorum pteropus” - Aquarium Fish Tank Aquatic Plant

Java fern “Microsorum pteropus” makes for a great midground or background plant. New plantlets will grow via the rhizome , although damage to plant or poor conditions will encourage new buds on the leaf structure. As an epiphyte, it can be securely attached to rocks or driftwood with aquarium-safe glue they cannot be buried in substrate.

These plants are able to absorb nutrients through the water column, making them ideal for soaking up nitrates produced by messy fish. However, to ensure optimal growth, it is still recommended to use a comprehensive liquid fertiliser to provide all necessary micro and macro nutrients.
