Hygrophila pinnatifida is highly sought after in the aquarium hobby often used in aquascapes. Its luxurious fern-like leaves display a striking array of sunset colors in high light tank setups.
It can be either planted directly into substrate or grown on driftwood or rocks with aquarium-safe glue (sold here).
This species has rapid growth in high-tech systems, but also maintains steady growth in low-tech systems. This plant is optimal for mid-background placement, as it grows in a bush-like and tall structure. Once it reaches the top, it will continue to grow above water.
To ensure optimal growth, it is recommended to use a comprehensive liquid fertiliser and root tabs to provide all necessary micro and macro nutrients to this stem plant species which obtains its nutrients from both substrate and water.
Chloe’s Aquatic Centre exclusively uses and recommends AquaLabs Liquid Fertilisers. Please select the appropriate option, or contact us if you have any questions.
